Meet the team:

Tim Stott - General Manager
A Qualified Management Accountant, Tim has worked for Lafarge for more than
17 years. Tim joined Sapphire as Finance Manager in 2001 and became General Manager at the beginning
of 2005. Tim's vision for Sapphire is: " Sapphire provides the nations largest nationwide tyre disposal service, with class leading focus on customer service, vehicle turn around times and unloading facilities. We meet the needs of 9 cement factories across the UK and have recently expanded into aggregate replacement market for landfill drainage scheme with our quality product RTG50. We have grown considerably in 2006 and helped the UK meet the obligations of the EU landfill directive, we are planning for further growth in 2007 with safety and the environment at the forefront of all we do."

Ryan Mifflin – Head of Sales and Marketing
Following a career in the construction materials industry as a sales and marketing professional, Ryan was appointed to head Sapphire’s Sales and Marketing team in February 2005 responsible for all aspects of Sapphire’s commercial and marketing activities from brand development through to strategic planning. Ryan attributes the success of Sapphire to a combination of customer service excellence, teamwork across all disciplines and the development of key partnerships within the tyre industry.

Bob Wain – Operations Manager
After 34 years with Michelin Tyre Co initially as an engineer and then as a production manager at the Stoke on Trent site, Bob joined Sapphire in June 2001. Bob has overall responsibility for safety, environment, production, quality, engineering, human resources, finance, customer relationships and training at all our processing sites. He also handles customer supplier meetings with all of Sapphire's end users.

Paul Forrester – Project Manager
Paul began his career with the company as a mechanic at our Cauldon Works in Staffordshire with a two-year stint in Nigeria as a mobile plant specialist. His career has spanned a number of disciplines including operational improvement programme coach and national spares co-ordinator. Paul joined Sapphire as Project Manager in 2002 and has been instrumental in the successful establishment of Sapphire’s network of national processing facilities project, including construction of the Oldbury and West Thurrock sites and most recently, the new Manchester site.

Andy Jones – EHS Co-Ordinator
Andy joined Blue Circle/Lafarge in 1990 as a mechanical craftsman, transferring to Sapphire in June 2006. As Sapphire’s Environmental, Health and Safety Co-ordinator, Andy is responsible for all EHS management systems (ISO 14001, EMAS and OHSAS18001). He provides support and guidance for both Sapphire’s operational requirements and to customers.
